Cancelling or Pausing

You can cancel your DoesItHaveIt? subscription at any time. There are no cancellation fees and no lock-in beyond your current billing period.

How to cancel

  1. Go to Dashboard → Billing → Cancel plan
  2. Select a cancellation reason (optional but appreciated for product improvement)
  3. Confirm the cancellation

Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You are not charged again after cancellation, and you retain full plan access until the period ends.

Example: You're on Premium ($42/mo) with your next renewal on July 15. You cancel on July 3. You keep Premium access through July 14. Starting July 15, your account moves to the Free plan.

What happens to your data after cancellation

Data typeRetention period
Saved addressesKept for 90 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted
Analytics snapshotsKept for 90 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted
Lookup history (Recent list)Kept for 90 days
Promotion listingsImmediately paused; configuration retained for 90 days
API tokens (Premium Plus)Immediately revoked; widget returns "unavailable"
Billing history and invoicesKept indefinitely (legal requirement)

After the 90-day retention window, data is permanently and irrecoverably deleted. If you reactivate your account after 90 days, you start with a clean account.

Credit balances after cancellation

Promotion credits: Your purchased credit pack balance is retained in your account. Since credits never expire, they remain in your balance and are immediately available if you reactivate your subscription. Monthly allotment credits for the current period are used up to the cancellation date.

Widget credits (Premium Plus): Same policy — purchased credit balances are retained. The widget itself stops working immediately when your subscription ends (API tokens are revoked), so widget credits are only usable after you reactivate a Premium Plus plan.

note

Credits require an active subscription to use — promotion features require Premium or higher, and the widget requires Premium Plus. But the credit balances themselves never expire. Reactivate anytime and your credits will be right where you left them.

Annual plan cancellation

Annual plans can be cancelled, but no refund is issued for unused months. If you cancel an annual plan:

  • You retain access for the remainder of the annual period you've paid for
  • At the end of the annual period, your plan automatically transitions to Free (no auto-renewal)
  • Data retention follows the same 90-day policy from the plan end date

Downgrading vs. cancelling

Downgrading to a lower paid plan (e.g., Premium → Upgrade) is different from cancelling:

  • Your account and all its data remain active
  • Features exclusive to the higher plan become unavailable at the next renewal date
  • Saved addresses and analytics data are retained for 90 days if you move from Premium to a non-Premium plan, giving you time to export or review before they're removed

Downgrading is often the right choice if you want to reduce cost without losing your account entirely. Go to Dashboard → Billing → Change plan to downgrade.

Cancelling moves you to the Free plan immediately at period end. The Free plan still lets you run lookups and access your 15-item recent history — you just lose the Premium/Plus exclusive features.

Reactivating

To reactivate a cancelled subscription:

  1. Sign in to your account (your account exists until you explicitly delete it)
  2. Go to Dashboard → Billing → Reactivate plan
  3. Choose a plan and billing cycle
  4. Enter a payment method
  5. Access restores immediately

If you reactivate within 90 days of cancellation, any saved addresses and analytics data that haven't yet been deleted will be restored.

Deleting your account

Cancelling your subscription is not the same as deleting your account. Your account remains active on the Free plan after cancellation, letting you continue running lookups without a subscription.

To permanently delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account. Account deletion is immediate and permanent — it cannot be undone. See Account Settings for details on the deletion process.

warning

Deleting your account is permanent. All data — saved addresses, analytics history, billing records (except legally required tax records), and promotion configurations — is immediately and irrecoverably destroyed. There is no 90-day grace period for account deletion.
