Business Promotion Overview

Plan requirement

Business promotion requires a Premium plan (1 listing slot) or Premium Plus plan (5 listing slots).

DoesItHaveIt? promotion lets local Colorado businesses create featured listings that appear to users running address lookups near their location. It's contextual advertising done right: instead of targeting users by demographics or browsing history, your listing reaches people who are actively researching the specific neighborhood where your business is located.

How promotion works

When a user looks up an address within your configured promotion radius, your featured listing can appear in the results. The listing shows your business name, category, a short description, your website, and business hours. It's the right moment to reach someone who is literally evaluating whether to live, work, or visit your area.

Because results are tied to address lookups rather than keyword searches, promotion impressions are inherently local and relevant — a coffee shop in Capitol Hill reaches people researching Capitol Hill addresses, not random internet traffic.

Who promotion is for

Promotion is designed for:

  • Restaurants and cafes — reach people evaluating the neighborhood before they move in or visit
  • Retail shops — "There's a great running store two blocks from that address you just looked up"
  • Service businesses — plumbers, electricians, cleaners, dog walkers operating in a specific service area
  • Real estate agents and brokerages — promote your services to people actively researching homes in your farm area
  • Gyms and fitness studios — reach people evaluating walkability and local amenities
  • Property management companies — surface your available rentals to people looking at nearby addresses
  • Local professional services — attorneys, financial advisors, healthcare practices

Where listings appear

Your listing appears on results pages for addresses within your configured radius. The placement is in the Local Businesses section of the results page, which appears below the data cards. Listings are shown in a card format with your business name, category badge, short description, and a link to your website.

Multiple businesses can have listings for the same geographic area. When multiple listings qualify for a given address lookup, they are shown in a randomized order (credit burn rate is equal per listing; there is no bid-based ranking).

Each listing slot can hold one active promotion at a time. On Premium Plus with 5 slots, you could run listings for 5 different business locations, 5 different business categories, or 5 separate businesses if you manage multiple.

What a listing includes

Each promotion listing contains:

  • Business name — up to 80 characters
  • Category — select from a list of business categories (restaurant, retail, fitness, health, professional service, real estate, food & grocery, home services, beauty & personal care, other)
  • Short description — up to 160 characters, shown in the listing card
  • Website URL — where clicks go
  • Business address — must be a valid Colorado address; defines the center of your promotion radius
  • Business hours — optional but recommended; shown when a user expands the listing
  • Target radius — 0.1 miles to 2 miles; determines how far from your address a lookup must be to trigger your listing

Moderation

All new listings and significant edits are reviewed by the DoesItHaveIt? team before going live. Review typically takes less than 1 business day. You'll receive an email when your listing is approved or if changes are needed.

Listings that are rejected for content reasons (misleading information, prohibited categories, adult content) will include a rejection reason and an opportunity to revise and resubmit.

Promotion credits

Running a promotion listing costs promotion credits. Your plan includes a monthly allotment (1,000/month on Premium; 5,000/month on Premium Plus). Additional credit packs can be purchased with volume discounts.
