Account Settings
Dashboard → Settings is where you manage your personal profile, security configuration, notification preferences, and account lifecycle. Changes take effect immediately unless noted.
Profile
The Profile section lets you update your display name and email address.
- Display name — shown in the dashboard header and in any support ticket correspondence
- Email address — the address where billing receipts, weekly digests, and score alerts are sent. Changing your email requires confirmation: a verification link is sent to the new address before the change takes effect. Your old address continues to work until you click the link.
Password
If you signed up with an email and password (rather than Google), you can change your password here. You'll be asked to enter your current password before setting a new one.
Passwords must be at least 12 characters. We recommend a passphrase or a password manager-generated string. There is no forced rotation policy, but you should change your password immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised.
If you've forgotten your password, use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page rather than contacting support — the reset flow is faster.
Notification preferences
Control which emails DoesItHaveIt? sends you:
| Notification | What it sends | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly address digest | Monday summary of all saved address scores and changes | On (Premium+) |
| Score change alerts | Email when any saved address category score changes by ±10 or more | On (Premium+) |
| Billing receipts | Receipt for every charge to your payment method | On (all plans) |
| Credit balance warnings | Alert when promotion or widget credits drop below 10% of your monthly allotment | On (Premium+) |
| Product announcements | New features, data source additions, coverage expansions | On (can opt out) |
Toggle each notification on or off individually. Billing receipts cannot be disabled — they're required by our payment processor.
Two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication is strongly recommended. Your saved addresses, analytics data, billing information, and (for Premium Plus) API tokens are accessible to anyone who can sign in as you. 2FA significantly reduces the risk of account takeover.
DoesItHaveIt? uses TOTP-based 2FA (Time-based One-Time Passwords) compatible with any standard authenticator app: Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Bitwarden, and others.
To enable 2FA:
- Go to Settings → Two-Factor Authentication
- Click Enable 2FA
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
- Enter the 6-digit code from your app to confirm setup
- Save your backup codes in a secure location (password manager recommended)
Backup codes: You receive 10 single-use backup codes when you enable 2FA. Each code can be used once if you lose access to your authenticator app. Store them securely — they're only shown once. You can regenerate a fresh set of backup codes at any time from Settings → 2FA → Regenerate backup codes (this invalidates the old set).
To disable 2FA: Enter your current authenticator code and confirm. Disabling 2FA does not affect your account data.
Connected accounts
If you signed up or signed in using Sign in with Google, your Google account is listed here. You can disconnect it (only if you've also set a password), or reconnect it if you want to switch to Google sign-in.
You cannot connect multiple OAuth providers to a single DoesItHaveIt? account at this time.
Danger zone
The Danger Zone section contains irreversible account actions.
Delete account
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your profile and credentials
- All saved addresses and their analytics history
- All promotion listings
- All API tokens (Premium Plus)
- All billing records except legally required tax records
This action cannot be undone. Active subscriptions are cancelled immediately and you will not receive a refund for unused time in the current billing period. Any unused purchased credit packs are forfeited.
To delete your account, type your email address in the confirmation field and click Delete my account permanently.
If you want to stop being charged but keep your data accessible temporarily, consider downgrading to the Free plan rather than deleting your account. Saved addresses and analytics history are retained on Free for 90 days after a downgrade, then removed.
