Setting Up a Promotion
Creating a featured business listing takes about 5 minutes. Once your listing passes review (typically within 1 business day), it will begin appearing to users who run address lookups near your business.
Prerequisites
- A Premium or Premium Plus subscription
- Your business address (must be in Colorado — current coverage is Colorado-only)
- A promotion credit balance (your plan includes 1,000/month on Premium; 5,000/month on Premium Plus)
Step 1: Go to Dashboard → Promotion
In the dashboard sidebar, click Promotion. This section shows your active listings, credit usage, and the option to create a new listing.
If you're on Premium, you have 1 listing slot. If you already have an active listing, you'll need to delete or repurpose it before creating a new one. On Premium Plus, you have 5 slots.
Step 2: Click "New listing"
Click the New listing button. This opens the listing creation form.
Step 3: Enter your business address
Enter your business's physical address in Colorado. This address is used as the center point for your promotion radius — lookups within your configured radius from this point will be eligible to show your listing.
The address must geocode successfully to a location in Colorado. Post office boxes and addresses outside Colorado are not accepted.
Step 4: Fill in your business details
Business name
Your business name as you want it to appear in the listing card. Up to 80 characters. Be accurate — listings with misleading or incorrect business names will be rejected in moderation.
Category
Choose the category that best describes your business from the dropdown:
- Restaurant / Cafe
- Retail
- Fitness & Wellness
- Health & Medical
- Professional Services
- Real Estate
- Food & Grocery
- Home Services
- Beauty & Personal Care
- Entertainment & Recreation
- Other
The category appears as a badge on your listing card and helps users quickly identify what kind of business you are.
Short description
A concise description of your business — up to 160 characters. This is displayed directly on the listing card and is the first thing a user reads. Make it specific and useful:
Good: "Local running and outdoor gear shop in Capitol Hill. Expert fitting, trail and road shoes, apparel, accessories."
Too generic: "Great local business serving Denver since 2015. Come visit us!"
Website URL
The URL users are taken to when they click your listing. This can be your homepage, a specific landing page, or a menu/booking page. Use https:// links.
Business hours
Optional but strongly recommended. Hours are shown when a user expands your listing for details. Enter hours in a standard format (e.g., "Mon–Fri 9am–6pm, Sat 10am–4pm, Sun closed"). You can also indicate "By appointment" or "24/7" as appropriate.
Step 5: Set your target radius
Choose how far from your business address you want lookups to trigger your listing. The radius can be set from 0.1 miles to 2 miles.
| Radius | Coverage | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 0.1–0.25 miles | Immediate block | Destination businesses; users likely walking |
| 0.25–0.5 miles | Close neighborhood | Walkable neighborhood businesses |
| 0.5–1 mile | Broader neighborhood | Businesses where a short drive is expected |
| 1–2 miles | Wide area | Service businesses with a broader service area; real estate agents |
A larger radius means more potential impressions — but also faster credit consumption. A 2-mile radius in a dense urban area could generate hundreds of impressions per day. Set a daily credit cap (see the Spending Controls step) to manage this.
Step 6: Configure spending controls
Before publishing, set a daily credit cap to limit how many credits your listing can consume per day. When the daily cap is reached, your listing pauses for the rest of that day and reactivates at midnight Mountain Time.
Daily cap guidance:
- 1,000 credits/month included → ~33 credits/day — a daily cap of 30–40 credits keeps you within your monthly allotment
- 5,000 credits/month included → ~165 credits/day — a daily cap of 150–200 credits keeps you within your monthly allotment
You can always adjust the daily cap after your listing goes live.
Step 7: Click Publish (Submit for review)
Click Publish to submit your listing for moderation. Your listing is not live yet — it enters a review queue. You'll receive an email when it's approved (typically within 1 business day).
During review, your listing configuration is saved and visible in Dashboard → Promotion with a "Pending review" status.
Managing a live listing
Pausing a listing
Dashboard → Promotion → [listing] → Pause. Your listing immediately stops appearing to users. Credits are not consumed while paused. The listing configuration is preserved.
Editing a listing
Dashboard → Promotion → [listing] → Edit. Any edit to your listing sends its promotions back through review — the reviewed creative is exactly what runs, so there's no distinction between "minor" and "significant" changes. Your promotion comes offline while it's re-reviewed and goes live again on approval (you'll get an email either way; if it's rejected, the reviewer's note appears in your dashboard).
Deleting a listing
Dashboard → Promotion → [listing] → Delete. Confirm the deletion. The listing is immediately removed and the slot becomes available for a new listing. Deletion is permanent — you cannot recover a deleted listing's configuration or its credits usage history.
